Every November, Find Edmonton joins partners across the city to celebrate Housing Month — a time to raise awareness, share stories and inspire action toward ending homelessness in our community.
One of the ways Find participates is through the Find the Truck Contest, a fun, city-wide photo challenge that encourages Edmontonians to connect with our mission in a simple, visible way.
How the Contest Works
Throughout November, our distinctive Find trucks can be seen across Edmonton — delivering essential furniture to people moving out of homelessness and picking up community donations that help furnish new homes.
When community members spot a Find truck, they’re invited to:
1. Snap a photo
2. Post it on social media with @FindYEG, #FINDtheTruck, and #YEGHousingMonth
3. Be entered to win fun local prizes — this year, five gift certificates to Axe Monkeys Edmonton!
It’s an easy, interactive way to get involved in Housing Month and show support for the work Find and our partners do year-round.
This is more than a social media contest — it’s a way to celebrate what housing means and how community action makes it possible.
Every truck you see on the road is part of a much bigger story:
-
Each delivery helps someone transition out of homelessness into a safe, stable home.
-
Each donation pickup keeps good furniture out of landfills and puts it where it’s needed most.
-
Each photo shared helps raise awareness about the importance of housing and community support in ending homelessness.
By turning our trucks into moving billboards for hope, we’re reminding Edmontonians that housing is more than shelter — it’s the foundation for stability, connection and dignity.
November is Housing Month
Housing Month, led by Homeward Trust Edmonton and partners across the housing and social service sector, shines a light on the collective effort needed to ensure everyone has a place to call home.
The Find the Truck Contest brings that message to the streets — literally — showing how small acts, like sharing a photo or donating furniture, can contribute to lasting change.
When you spot a Find truck, you’re seeing community action in motion — donations being delivered, lives being rebuilt, and homes being furnished.
By participating in #FINDtheTruck this November, you’re helping raise awareness for Housing Month and showing that together, we can end homelessness in Edmonton.
