Growth for us has always come from listening to our community and asking an important question: how can we truly honor the generosity that comes through our doors?

Since 2011, Find Retail + Donation Centre has continued to evolve alongside the incredible support of donors, shoppers, partners and supporters who believe in the mission of furnishing homes for people moving out of homelessness. What began as a small social enterprise has grown into a vibrant community hub where donated furniture and home goods are given a second life while helping individuals and families create a home of their own.

Along the way, we began to see another opportunity — one that would allow us to share more of what comes through our doors.

The Find Online Boutique started as a modest initiative — a simple way to highlight a few unique pieces that might benefit from reaching a broader audience. It didn’t take long for our team to recognize its potential.

Today, that reach extends even further through our growing online community. Shopping with FIND isn't limited to visiting us in person — it’s about being part of something bigger.

Through the Find Online Boutique at findedmonton.com, supporters can browse, discover and purchase meaningful pieces from anywhere, staying connected to the impact they help create. Every click, purchase and share is another way to be part of the work of ending homelessness.

“As our community continues to donate incredible items, we recognized the opportunity to showcase them in a new way,” says Bev Latta, FIND General Manager. “By showcasing cool items that come through our doors, we can reach more people, build awareness of our mission to end homelessness, and generate more support for our important work — all while honoring the value of each donation.”

Over time, as the online store grew, it became clear the space behind the scenes needed to grow with it.

We're excited to announce that we've recently refreshed and expanded our online store staging area to better support the work happening every day. The transformation includes new flooring, fresh walls, and a dedicated staging and photography space designed to present each item with care before it appears online.

This project was truly a community effort.

A heartfelt thank you goes to BFC Flooring for generously donating the beautiful new flooring that grounds the space, and to Dan of Bergsma's General Contracting, who helped elongate the wall to create a more functional and flexible staging area for photography. We are also deeply grateful to Janine Blair of SHE CREATES, who brought warmth and creativity to the space with a beautiful mural that reflects the spirit of FIND and the power of community generosity. Their contributions helped turn a practical workspace into an inspiring environment for our team and online community.

Behind every online listing is a story. Our team carefully stages, photographs and writes about each item with creativity and pride, ensuring the donation is presented in a way that honors both the donor and the future buyer.“Our vision is to combine thoughtful curation, storytelling and engagement to showcase the best of what our community donates,” says Bev. “Every online sale supports our mission to end homelessness and keeps quality items circulating in our community rather than going to landfill.”The updated staging space is another step forward in that journey.

It gives our team the tools and environment they need to continue sharing more of the incredible donations we receive while connecting new customers with FIND’s mission.

And in many ways, this is just the beginning.

As FIND continues to evolve, the heart of our work remains the same: community generosity turned into furnished homes, dignity and new beginnings. Every donation, every purchase, and every shared story helps create HOME for those moving out of homelessness.
