As we move into Fall, we take time to reflect and think about the work being done in this city to support our most vulnerable neighbours. We think about the cold approaching and how we can best support them to find new safe spaces to rest and what we can do as a community to make sure we are taking care of each other.
The Housing First program is integral to making sure folks have what they need to move out of homelessness and into hope, safety and security.
We thank the amazing agencies across the City of Edmonton who work tirelessly to find spaces, build affordable and supportive housing units and support those experiencing homelessness with daily needs. We also thank our community of supporters who donate to Find so we can help make their experience a little warmer, more comfortable and supported.
Because of the team work we have here in Edmonton, Find was able to furnish 131 homes for Housing First participants in September and supported 175 people (133 adults and 42 children) move out of homelessness into a comfortable, safe space.
As the colder months approach, we focus on getting as many folks into their new homes as possible and we can't do that without the support of our amazing community.
If you have gently used, good condition light couches, love seats, apartment sized kitchen sets, tv stands and standing dressers, please consider Find as your donation location. Each of these items help individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness create a space to call their own.
We offer free pick up on the above items which you can schedule by calling our team at 780 988 1717 or by using the donation form on our website.
Thanks, Edmonton!
Together, we will end chronic homelessness!
