Another month is in the books at FIND, and that means another opportunity to report back to the community that makes this work possible.

September was filled with donations coming through our doors, furniture heading back out into the community, thrift finds getting a second life and, most importantly, people moving into homes of their own.

This month, FIND helped furnish:

134 homes

Those furnishings supported:

216 people, including 76 children

Those numbers tell us how much furniture moved through our doors, but they don’t tell the whole story.

A couch means someone has a comfortable place to sit.

A kitchen table means there’s somewhere to eat a meal.

A dresser means there’s finally somewhere to unpack.

A lamp, a set of dishes or a pot and pan might seem small, but when you’re moving into an empty space, those everyday things make a big difference!

YOU helped make that happen!

Every month, we see the full circle of what community support can do.

You donate furniture and household goods you no longer need.

Our team inspects, cleans and prepares those items.

Housing workers connect people moving out of homelessness with FIND.

Our logistics team gets furniture out the door and into homes across Edmonton.

And the items that aren’t needed for the Furniture Bank can be sold through our retail store and Online Boutique, with proceeds supporting the work we do.

One donation can travel a long way.

As we head into October, we continue to need the everyday furniture that helps turn housing into HOME.

Right now, some of the items we’re always happy to see coming through our donor doors include couches and loveseats, dressers, apartment-sized kitchen tables, TV stands and dining chairs.
