Each year, FIND has the privilege of witnessing how secondhand items can spark first steps for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness. We are happy to share our 2024 Sustainability Report, created in partnership with Quantum Lifecycle Partners, to share just how powerful our community’s support has been — not only for people, but for the planet.

Through furniture donations, thrift shopping, and our recycling partnerships, we’ve continued to grow our impact in 2024. In 2024:

• 96,344 lbs of electronics and metals were diverted from the landfill

• 1763 homes were furnished with essential items for individuals moving out of homelessness

• 90% of all donations received at FIND were reused, share with partners, repurposed or responsibly recycled

With the support of Quantum Recycling, we were also able to improve how we process, sort, and track materials — increasing our landfill diversion rates and making our operations more efficient and sustainable than ever.

At FIND, sustainability isn’t just about waste reduction — it’s about creating lasting change. Every couch, chair, table, or lamp that’s diverted from the landfill doesn’t just stay out of the waste stream — it becomes part of someone’s fresh start.

Whether it’s a single parent moving their kids into their new apartment or a someone who has been sleeping rough for years finally in a stable, safe home, your donated items are turning empty spaces into homes full of possibility.

Partnering with Quantum Recycling has allowed us to rethink what sustainability means at FIND. Together, we’re identifying new ways to reduce waste, optimize donation processing and ensure that even items we can’t reuse are recycled responsibly.
