Each day, our community comes together to do something powerful: turn donated furniture and household items into fully furnished homes for people moving out of homelessness in Edmonton.
Thanks to your generosity and the coordination of local housing supports, 136 homes were furnished this month with donated furniture, décor and essential household items. Each of these homes represents a fresh start — a safe, stable place to land after experiencing homelessness.
Through referrals from housing partners, our team helped support:
-
141 adults
-
44 children
These individuals and families have moved into stable housing with the support of Edmonton’s coordinated housing system. Furnishing a home is a critical step in that journey — it helps turn housing into home and supports long-term stability.
Every couch carried up stairs, every bed frame assembled, and every kitchen table placed was made possible by community donations. These items were donated, sorted, cleaned and delivered with care by our staff, ensuring each home was ready for move-in day.
Because of you:
-
Homes were furnished quickly
-
Housing providers could focus on ongoing supports
-
New tenants could settle in with dignity
Our work would not be possible without strong partnerships. We are proud to work alongside Homeward Trust, housing agencies and frontline support teams who help people access housing and the supports they need to stay housed.
Ending homelessness takes a coordinated effort — and furnishing homes is one piece of a much larger system working toward stability and belonging for everyone in our city.
To everyone who donated, shopped, shared our posts or supported our work this month: thank you. Your support helps ensure that when someone gets the keys to their new home, they don’t walk into an empty space — they walk into possibility.
