Every month, incredible things happen at FIND — and it’s all because of you, our generous community of donors, shoppers and supporters.
This June, FIND furnished 135 homes for individuals and families moving out of homelessness in Edmonton. That’s 249 people no longer sleeping rough or in shelter. 135 kitchens filled with dishes, tables, and chairs. 135 living rooms warmed by cozy sofas and tv stands. And 249 people taking their first steps into a new chapter, surrounded by dignity, comfort and hope.
What Does That Really Mean?
For someone starting over after experiencing homelessness, having a furnished home isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. A real bed to sleep in, a couch to curl up on and a table to gather around help people feel safe, settled and supported. It turns an empty space into a HOME.
And thanks to your donations of gently-used furniture, household items — plus every purchase you make at FIND — we’re able to provide those essential items free of charge to those moving into housing through Edmonton’s housing programs.
A Look at the Impact
Here’s what we accomplished together in June:
-
135 homes furnished
-
Countless lives changed
-
Thousands of pounds diverted from the landfill
It’s a beautiful reminder that what might be extra or no longer needed in one home can become the missing piece in another.
