Imagine the joy and relief of finally having a place to call home after years of uncertainty and instability. For individuals transitioning out of homelessness, finding stable housing is a significant milestone. However, the journey doesn't end there. Many of these individuals move into their new homes with little to no furniture or basic household items. That's where the Housing First program and Find comes in, providing not only a roof over their heads but also the opportunity to create a comfortable and welcoming space!

How many homes have been furnished so far?

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we are thrilled to announce that in January, Find has furnished 152 homes, helping 231 people (155 adults and 86 kids) through the Housing First program with community donations. These homes have become havens of hope, offering stability and a fresh start to individuals who have experienced homelessness.

Why is furnishing homes important?

Imagine moving into an empty apartment with nothing but a mattress on the floor. It's hard to feel truly at home. Furnishing homes goes beyond providing basic necessities; it restores dignity and empowers individuals to rebuild their lives. A furnished home creates a sense of belonging, comfort, and security, which are essential for individuals on their journey to housing stability.

How can you help?

We urgently need your support to continue furnishing homes for those in need. Your furniture donations can make a world of difference in someone's life. If you have gently used furniture or household items that you no longer need, consider donating them to Find. Your contributions will directly impact individuals transitioning out of homelessness and help them create a space they can truly call their own.

What items are needed?

We are currently in need of a variety of furniture and household items, including:

• Sofas and chairs
• Apartment sized kitchen tables and chairs
• Dressers and storage solutions
• Kitchenware, pots & pans and utensils
• Tv stands

Where can you donate?

To donate furniture or household items, please drop by 5120 122 street any day of the week between 10am-6pm to drop off your donations or visit our website at www.findedmonton.com and fill out the donation form to set up a free pick up. Our team will be in touch to arrange a convenient pickup time.* Your generosity will directly impact the lives of individuals transitioning out of homelessness!
