At FIND Edmonton, donated furniture helps turn empty housing into homes. Donations we receive from the community are redistributed to individuals and families moving out of homelessness and into stable housing across Edmonton.

Why Furniture?
Housing is the first step, but an empty space can still feel overwhelming.
Furniture helps create comfort, routine, stability and a sense of belonging. A furnished home supports wellbeing in ways that are often easy to overlook until those essentials are missing.
A bed means rest.
A couch creates a place to relax.
A table gives people somewhere to eat, work, connect and rebuild daily routines.
Through FIND’s furniture bank, community donations help people create homes where they can feel safe, settled and supported.
What We Accept
We accept gently used furniture and household items that are clean, safe and ready for another home.
Some commonly accepted furniture items include:

- Dressers
- Coffee and side tables
- Bookshelves
- Living chairs
- TV Stands
Before furniture reaches a participant’s home, items are carefully reviewed by our team to help ensure they are safe, clean and suitable for reuse.
In general, donated items should be:
- In good, usable condition
- Free of major stains, rips, damage, or strong odors
- Clean and ready for immediate use
- Structurally safe

Booking a pick up with FIND is easy.

When reaching out, it helps to include:
- Photos of the furniture
- A brief description of the items
- Your address
- Any important access information like stairs, elevators, or parking details
Photos allow our team to better understand what is being donated and help us plan safe and efficient pick ups.
What Timelines to Expect
Our team schedules pick ups based on donation volume, driver availability and location.
Typically:
- Donation requests are reviewed within a few business days
- Pick ups are scheduled in advance
- Furniture pick ups outside of Edmonton take place on weekends
During especially busy seasons, timelines may vary slightly, but our team works hard to communicate clearly throughout the process.
How to Prepare Your Furniture for Pick Up
A little preparation helps our drivers complete more pick ups and deliveries across the city which helps more people move into furnished homes.
Before your scheduled pick up, please make sure to:
- Wipe down and clean furniture surfaces
- Remove personal belongings from drawers and shelves
- Use a lint brush or vacuum pet hair
- Clear pathways and entrances
- Have all pieces included
- Make sure items are accessible for loading
