FIND will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities. It is also an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the ongoing impacts of residential schools and colonialism and to continue learning about the histories, experiences, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
As a social enterprise of Homeward Trust Edmonton, FIND works within Edmonton's homeless-serving sector. We recognize that Indigenous peoples continue to be disproportionately impacted by homelessness and housing insecurity, and that meaningful reconciliation requires more than acknowledgement. It requires listening, learning, building respectful relationships, and recognizing the systems and historical injustices that continue to affect people today.
Our closure on September 30 gives our team the opportunity to observe the day with the respect and reflection it deserves.
We encourage members of our community to take time to learn about the history and legacy of residential schools, listen to Indigenous voices, consider what reconciliation can look like in our everyday actions, and attend local events in our great city.
FIND will reopen for regular operations on Thursday, October 1.
Thank you for your understanding as we recognize this important day.
