Donated household items do more than find a second life: they help individuals and families move out of homelessness and into furnished homes with dignity.

Whether you’re downsizing, decluttering, or doing a seasonal clean, this guide will help you understand what Find can accept, how to prepare your items, and how your donation supports housing stability in Edmonton.

Before donating:

Clothing & Textiles*

*Accepted on behalf of housing partners

Find Edmonton accepts clothing donations on behalf of our partner housing agencies, helping ensure individuals and families moving out of homelessness have access to clean, appropriate clothing when they need it most.

Please donate:

  • Clean, gently used clothing
  • Seasonal outerwear (coats, hats, scarves, gloves)
  • Footwear in good, wearable condition

These items are distributed through housing agencies across the sector.

Please do not donate:

  • Clothing with holes, heavy staining, or strong odors
  • Damaged or unusable footwear

If you wouldn’t feel comfortable giving it directly to someone, it’s best recycled instead.

Items We Can’t Accept

  • Broken or heavily damaged items
  • Furniture with stains, rips, or odors
  • Opened personal care products
