Moving into a new home should feel like a fresh start — not a reminder of what you’re missing. At Find, our mission is to make sure no one has to move into an empty space. Every piece of furniture we deliver has a story, a purpose and a direct impact on the well-being of the people we serve.

Today, we’re giving you a peek behind the curtain at how our team carefully curates essential furniture packages for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.

Every donation makes it HOME.

Our work begins with the generosity of our community. Every day, individuals, families, and local businesses donate gently-used furniture and home goods to Find. From dressers to kitchen tables, couches to tv stands — these items are sorted, cleaned and stored in our warehouse until they're matched with someone moving out of homelessness and into their new home.

Assessing Needs

No two people are alike — and neither are the homes they move into.
Before a furniture package is assembled, we connect with our housing agency partners to learn about the specific needs of each household.

We ask:

  • How many people are in the home?

  • Are there children? Seniors? Individuals with mobility needs?

  • What size is the home or apartment?

  • Are there any priority items they need urgently?

This helps us build a personalized list to ensure every person what they need to make their house feel like home.

Building the Perfect Package

Once we have the needs list, our furniture bank team gets to work.

They carefully select:

  • A bed for every person in the home

  • A table and chairs for shared meals

  • A comfortable couch or seating area

  • Dressers as storage for clothing

  • Art and décor to warm up the space

We aim to provide everything a person needs to feel safe, comfortable and at HOME. Even small details like art for the walls and a kitchen utensils can make a powerful difference.

Moving Day: Delivery & Setup

The final step is often the most emotional.
Our dedicated delivery crew transports the essential package to the person’s new home, setting up furniture and ensuring everything is in place.

For many people, it’s their first night in a real bed in months. It’s their first meal at a proper table in years. It’s the first time a child gets to choose their favorite pillow or spot on the couch.

As one client recently shared:

“I didn’t realize how important a table was until we sat down for dinner together. It finally felt like a home.”
